We know that music isn’t just what you do—it’s who you are. It’s in your genes, your blood, your heart, which is why when combined with our head for business, it can lead to remarkable results. We also know that what makes you unique is ultimately what will make you successful. We don’t want you to fit the mold. We want to help you break it.
Anyone can lose themselves in music, but at Shipwright you can find yourself in it. If you are an artist with a strong identity, a unique perspective, and a distinctive sound, we want to hear from you. ShipWright is a different kind of talent management company, one founded to work with and for undiscovered musicians. We believe that by being true to your talent, yourself, and your trade, together we can bring your story and gifts to the world.
We work tirelessly because that’s what it takes, and because that’s what you do when you believe in something. At ShipWright, we aren’t only managers, we’re collaborators, innovators, and game changers. We will work both for you and with you, boosting your identity without ever asking you to sacrifice your artistry, and create a plan that is as individual as you are.
Steve Shippee, CEO
Steve "Ship" Shippee has a unique focus; to find and nurture undiscovered talent. He spent over 10 years as the COO, CFO and ultimately CEO of Broadway Video, Inc.—which was Lorne Michaels' television and movie production company (Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Wayne's World, etc.). In this role, Ship developed deep relationships within the entertainment industry. He then pursued a career to help people to live a more meaningful life—a key passion of his. He had a successful private counseling practice for many years before being called back to the corporate world to become the Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer of Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc., an up-and-coming company that needed someone to lead them through an aggressive time of growth.
ShipWright Productions is the culmination of combining Ship’s three key passions: his love for music, his heart to help people know and embrace their true selves, and his innate sense of business. ShipWright Productions is run by a man who knows people, knows talent, and knows business—a win-win-win for all who work with them.
